Halloween 2021 - Halloween Play List Vol. 2

Sunday, October 31, 2021

My two Halloween playlists in their most current forms.

Halloween 2021 - Halloween Cigar

Sunday, October 31, 2021

After Dale and I got back from our walk we made a Kowalski's run for dinner makings. And after that I lit up a Romeo y Julieta in the back yard.

Partly cloudy day and only in the mid-40s so it actually felt quite chilly when the sun went behind a cloud.

I decide to move my cigar session up to the attic. Much more comfortable up there.

Listened to my Halloween playlist and.....

It's Monster Surfing Time.

Halloween 2021 - Walking

Sunday, October 31, 2021

Dale and I took a nice walk after we got back from the grocery store. We went through the cemetery to stop in on Dad. The cemetery is where we took all three of our dogs - Buddy, Sophie, and Athena - on walks.

We also walked to St. Joe's and McCrae Park - another place we also took them.

Halloween 2021 - Orville Peck Costume

Sunday, October 31, 2021

Decided to give Orville more of a full leather look this year; like in the Summertime video.

No gathering or anything like that to wear the costume to. Just did myself up for fun.

From Orville Peck's Summertime video.

Halloween Approacheth 2021 - The Fly at Julie and Regina's

Saturday, October 30, 2021

Been catching a lot of Vincent Price movies this season, mostly on TCM. Julie and Regina had Phyllis, Barb, Dale and me over tonight for dinner and a movie. She picked the original The Fly from 1958 and it was a hoot and a half, to say the least. We all had a lot of fun watching it.

Pre-dinner I had a couple of cocktails.

Julie made chili for dinner and we had brownies for dessert.

Julie and Regina's dog, Jupiter, was MUCH more calm than usual. Their dog, Chai, was sweet as always. I enjoyed seeing the dogs but found myself missing Athena intensely. I had a little moment of despair but Dale comforted me through it.

Farewell, My Sweet Love

Friday, October 29, 2021

We lost our sweet angel today.   She hadn't been with us long when the above picture was taken. We first brought her home on Labor Day weekend of 2012. My heart's broken and is aching for her. She will be missed.

Halloween Approacheth 2021 - Saturday MEA Weekend: Dinner and a Movie

Saturday, October 23, 2021

Dale and I watched an old comfort movie, Murder, She Said starring Magaret Rutherford. It's perfect for a windy and chilly fall night. This was a movie Dale brought to the relationship and I remember the first time we rented it almost 30 years ago from an old mom and pop video store up on Hennepin Avenue that specialized in more rare titles. We were living on Fremont Avenue at the time. We've watched it many times over the years in many different residences.

Baked ziti was our comfort food for the night.

Halloween Approacheth 2021 - Saturday MEA Weekend: Cigar Time

Saturday, October 23, 2021

Another fine day for a cigar.

Or two.

These smaller cigars come in handy when it starts getting cooler outside as it does the second half of October.

Halloween Approacheth 2021 - Friday MEA Weekend: Pumpkin Spice Cream Liqueur

Friday, October 22, 2021

On my outing today I stopped by the liquor store and got some pumpkin spice cream liquour.

Poured some after dinner tonight and it was pretty smooth.

Our liquor store has been carrying Fulton's Harvest Pumpkin Pie Cream Liqueur for years but this year I didn't see it. They did have another brand which turned out to be pretty good.

Halloween Approacheth 2021 - Friday MEA Weekend: The House On Haunted Hill

Friday, October 22, 2021

After The Bat TCM showed The House On Haunted Hill, another Vincent Price movie. Not great. Not bad, but not great.

Earlier this month Dale and I caught another Vincent Price movie on TCM, The House of Wax, which is one of my favorites. I have memories of seeing it on Mel's Matinee back in the 1970's on local Minneapolis television.

Halloween Approacheth 2021 - Friday MEA Weekend: The Bat

Friday, October 23, 2021

After my cigar and walking the dog I came in and found The Bat starring Vincent Price and Agnes Moorehead.

I've loved Agnes Moorehead since the Bewitched days. She was very Eudora-like in this movie.

And I've loved Vincent Price since Mel's Matinee in the early/mid 70s.

Silly. Campy. Fun. Highly watchable.

Halloween Approacheth 2021 - Friday MEA Weekend: Walking with Athena in October Light

Friday, October 22, 2021

The sun continuously becomes lower and lower and it is so noticiable by the mid-afternoon.

Where there are trees much of the ground is in shadow while just above is well lit.

These photos were taken about 3:30 or so.

Shadows are long.

Halloween Approacheth 2021 - Friday MEA Weekend: Cigar Time

Friday, October 22, 2021

Fifty degrees which is perfect leather jacket weather and even more perfect with the sun out for sitting in the backyard with a cigar.

Stopped by Kowalski's today and picked up an orange pumpkin and a white one too. The littlest one pictured here is one I already had. I'll bring 'em inside when I'm done out here as I don't want the squirrels to get them.
