Snow today. October dustings are not uncommon although this one just squeaked in as we haven't had any others. Considering it was 78 degrees two days ago this is really something.
Today Ms. Cruz brought mini cupcakes for the kids. I helped her pass them out at lunch time.
My two 1st grade colleagues and I did a craft rotation with the students. I showed the kids how to make pumpkin lanterns.Cheryl showed them how to make spiders.
And Baruk made paper bag scarecrows with them.
The snow fell steadily for three days beginning on October 31, 1991. If I remember correctly the Twin Cities got just under 30 inches.
Cigar when I got home from school.
Next, I pulled out the Halloween candy.
Set out some tchotchkes.
Hauled the pumpkins outside and then settled in to wait for trick or treaters around 5 o'clock.
We had about 20 trick or treaters total stop by and I only gave out about half the candy. Low turn out maybe because of the cold. The kids were all very polite and said thank you but I was surprised by how many didn't actually say "trick or treat." I didn't say anything. After a long day of teaching I didn't feel like giving out any more directions.
