We've had a beautiful summer this past season. Just enough rain and lots of sunny days. Not over- hot and certainly not over-humid. However, the past week felt hotter than July and was rather sticky. Tomorrow is the first day of autumn and today we got a taste of it with signs of the season all around.
Dale and I stopped by Kowalski's to get fixings for dinner tonight. We found a pumpkin treats station with lots of pumpkin flavored goodies including pumpkin bread, pumpkin scones, pumpkin cookies, pumpkin bars, and pumpkin pies. We picked up half a pie.
The coolish weather felt just right for a leather jacket.
The leaves have begun changing over the past week or so and when walking Athena I noticed some are actually falling - not many but a few.
We recently picked up some mums for the yard which are showing their flowers much more so than when we bought them. Elsewhere in the garden some of the annuals, especially the coleus, are starting to fade a bit.
Speaking of the yard, it was a decent enough day to sit out with a cigar. It started to rain as I was heading out so I set up in the garage.
We made a chicken pot pie for dinner.
And had pumpkin pie for dessert. All in all, very fall. The stage is being set.
