Ghost Stories is a great anthology of spooky tales. Read some doosies this year including Honeysuckle Cottage by P.G. Wodehouse about a residence with quite a presence, W.S. by L.P. Hartley about an author receiving what turns out to be menacing postcards from a reader, and The Looking Glass by Edith Wharton about a woman obsessed with her fading looks.

Although mild for late October, it started getting chilly closer to midnight. Mike and I headed inside for more converstation. We listened to Autumn by George Winston which really brought back memories. I used to listen to it a LOT in the early 80s. Above is Mike's dog Colbie.

After Julie and Regina's I headed solo over to my buddy Mike's house for cigars. We listened to some Frank Sinatra (Only the Lonely) and Rosemary Clooney (Love). The Halloween moon was quite spectacular.

Headed over to Julie and Regina's in St. Paul around 5:00 p.m. Didn't think we'd have any trick-or-treaters before we left but we noticed one walking up to the house around 4:30. We quickly pulled the shades down. We felt badly but we didn't have anything on hand to pass out. Anyway, upon arrival at Julie and Regina's we noticed they were well stocked in the candy department. Too bad they only had one trick-or-treater.

Our neighbor, Toni, is the self-proclaimed Queen of Halloween. Judging by her costumes and the display she puts up every year I'd say she's worthy of the title. Athena went a little nuts over the hound of hell moving balloon dog. Toni came out of her Frankenstein tent and asked what the barking was about. I said Athena was having some issues with the dog. In character, Toni told Athena not to be afraid of her dog. She told me there'd be more folks out in costume shortly but that they were currently in make-up. I told her I'd try to stop back later.

The one pictured in the top left square creeped me out a little bit at first. It's just up the block and I've walked Athena past it numerous times. I made peace with it.

Halloween 2015 - Pumpkin Pie

The other night Dale and I headed to The Lowbrow for dinner. For dessert we had the pumpkin pie topped with ginger walnut struesel. As you can see, we hated it.
