For Halloween 2012 Pete and family dressed up as characters from Super Mario Brothers. Xander and Abby (not pictured here) went as Mario and the princess. Pete and Steph were toadstools and Emma was a flower. Dale and I went to visit them for in Little Rock for Thanksgiving that year and Xander and Abby dressed up in their costumes to show us. So cute.

Pumpkin Head

I recently visited Dale on Madeline Island and found this guy out by the landing shelter. Could he be left over from last Halloween? He didn't look to be in the best condition. Looks like his head had once been attached with duct tape. Athena barked at him gave him a good sniffing.  No threat as it turns out.

House of Dracula

Dale's on the Island so I'm home alone watching Svengoolie on ME-TV.  The movie tonight is Universal Pictures' House of Dracula with John Carradine playing Count Dracula and Lon Cheney Jr. playing the Wolfman.

The following is a synopsis from the Svengoolie website:

"This favorite film from 1945 has the kindly Dr. Edelmann and his pretty assistants - one a hunchbacked nurse - working on a plant based formula that will allow him to reshape bone. He is visited by a slim aristocrat - one Baron Latos [really Count Dracula] - who feels the doctor can cure an 'abnormality' in his blood (what we who are in the know already have guessed is - vampirism!) and undergoes some blood replacement in a quest to rid himself of his affliction. Meanwhile, a distraught Mr. Larry Talbot [the Wolfman] arrives at the clinic insisting he must see the doctor because a full moon is coming, and he needs his help! Can the kindly doctor finally end Talbot's torment?"

On top of all of this the Frankenstein monster (played by Glenn Strange) turns up.
